Respondent Prayer:- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent Collector of Nagapattinam to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 10.06.2016 regarding the gratuitous relief under the State Disaster Response Fund as envisaged in G.O.[Ms] No.380, Revnue [DM-III [2]] Department dated 27.10.2015.

ORDER

(1) There is no representation for the petitioner. (2) This writ petition is filed to direct the respondent / District Collector, Nagapattinam District to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 10.06.2016 regarding compensation under the State Disaster Response Fund as envisaged in G.O.[Ms] No.380, Revnue [DM-III [2]] Department dated 27.10.2015.

(3) The petitioner's husband was drowned in the flood water and his body was found in a small Kuttai nearby the petitioner's house. After filing the complaint to the Village Administrative Officer and before the Kariyapattinam Police Station, the petitioner submitted various representations for payment of some amount under the Hon'ble Chief Minister Relief Fund. After several representations, the petitioner also submitted a representation dated 10.06.2016 along with necessary enclosures. Since the representation of the petitioner was not considered, the above writ petition is filed. (4) The learned Special Government Pleader has produced before this

Court, a communication from the District Collector, Nagapattinam, dated 22.03.2017. As per the said communication, it is seen that a sum of Rs.4 lakhs has been directed to be paid to the petitioner towards compensation for the death of her husband. (5) Since the representation of the petitioner has been considered favourably and the petitioner and other legal heirs of the petitioner's husband have been adequately compensated, this writ petition stands dismissed as infructuous.
