This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner to direct the second respondent to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 11.03.2009 for his claim of appointment under compassionate grounds.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, there was no representation for the petitioner.

3. Learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted a letter of the first respondent vide No.8118/CA/OTA Chennai/GS/MT-7 dated 30.011.2023 sent to the second respondent, wherein it is stated that the sanction has been accorded to appoint the petitioner on compassionate grounds. Hence, the matter has become infructuous and Page No.2 of 5

nothing survives in this writ petition for further adjudication.

4. Considering the submission made by the learned Central Government Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
