ORDER

The present petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent to consider the representation dated 12.01.2018, submitted by the petitioner for considering his case for appointment on compassionate ground.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that on the death of his father, Elumalai, the petitioner, by producing the legal heir certificate dated 8.11.02, submitted a representation dated 7.1.03 seeking appointment on compassionate grounds. Though representations have been repeatedly given on 13.11.02, 5.2.03, the respondent has not passed any order on the representation submitted by the petitioner. Therefore, the present petition has been filed.

3. The petitioner's father Elumalai died in harness on 23.9.02 and the petitioner, though submitted representations for compassionate appointments, however, no orders have been passed on the said representation. It is brought to the notice of this Court that even on 12.1.2018, a fresh representation has been given.

4. In view of the limited relief sought for, this Court is of the view that it would be suffice to direct the respondent to consider the representation dated 12.1.2018, in addition to the representations already given by the petitioner, within a particular time frame.

5. In the above circumstances, this writ petition is disposed of directing the respondent to consider the representation dated 12.1.18 along with the other representations, submitted by the petitioner and pass orders thereon, in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
