ORDER
The Writ Petition has been filed seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider and pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 06.12.2018 pending on the file of the respondent University.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner's college, namely, Andavar College of Nursing was established in the year 2016 by the Alamelu Ammal Educational Trust with an annual intake of 60 students from the academic year 2017-18 vide G.O.Ms.No.284 dated 29.11.2016 and the State Government granted permission to the college to apply to the Indian Nursing Council to start the B.Sc. (Nursing Course) with an annual intake of 60 students. Subsequently, the Indian Nursing Council vide its letter dated 13.9.2017 permitted the
petitioner college to start the Nursing Course with an initial intake of 40 students for the academic year 2017-18 and the Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University has also granted affiliation to the said college for the academic year 2017-2018 vide letter dated 25.10.2017.

The learned Counsel for the petitioner further submitted that subsequently, an inspection was undertaken by the Inspecting Team of the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Mid Wives Council on 16.06.2018. Thereafter, in the Resolution passed by the Council on 28.6.2018, it was resolved to consider granting provisional affiliation for the academic year 2018-19 to the petitioner college. But till date, there is no clearance given for more intake from 40 students to 60 students. Therefore, a representation was given on 21.7.2018 followed by remainder dated 29.11.2018 to the respondent to undertake an inspection to find out whether the petitioner college has got all infrastructural and institutional facilities to increase the annual intake from 40 students to 60 students.
Thereafter, an inspection was undertaken by the Respondent University to the petitioner college on 4.12.2018 and the Inspection Report of the petitioner college was sent to the Registrar of the respondent University. Subsequently, the petitioner gave a detailed representation dated 6.12.2018 in person to the respondent to increase the annual intake of students from 40 to 60. Since there is no response, the petitioner is before this Court with this Writ Petition.

Mr.Hari Hara Arun Soma Sankar, learned Standing Counsel taking notice for the respondent sought for time to consider the representation of the petitioner.

In view of the limited prayer made in the Writ Petition, the respondent is hereby directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.12.2018 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.

With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
