The issue as to whether the permanent alimony can be filed by way of separate petition or not, could be an issue for consideration in the main Original Petition and as such, the Registry of the learned Family Court, Chennai, may not justified in rejecting the application, even at the threshold, without numbering the same.

2. Hence, the learned Principal Judge, Family Court, Chennai is called upon to direct his Registry to number the Original Petition in OP.SR.No.6031 of 2018, if it is otherwise in order, within a period of one week from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
