O R D E R

This contempt petition has been filed for the alleged disobedience of the orders of this Court dated 14.12.2017 made in W.P.No.25770 of 2003.

2. Against the said order dated 14.12.2017, in fact, the respondent alleged contemnor have filed a review application in Review Application No.90 of 2022, which came to be disposed of by a separate order today i.e. on 24.11.2022.

3. Under the said order in the review application, the review application was partly allowed. Therefore, the order dated 14.12.2017 has been modified.

4. Accordingly, Mr.S.Silambanan, learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondent in this contempt petition submits that in view of the modified order passed in the review application, directions given therein would be complied within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and therefore, taking the said arguments on record, this Contempt petition can be closed.

5. However, Mr.Balan Haridas, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that unless this contempt petition is kept pending, the respondents would not come forward to comply with the order passed in the review application.

6. I have considered the said submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties.

7. In view of the modified order passed in the connected review application, this Court is inclined to pass the following orders in this contempt petition:

That this contempt petition can be closed, of course with the liberty to the petitioner to revive the same, in case, within the eight weeks' period, the modified order passed in the Review Application No.90 of 2022 is not complied with by the respondent.
