O R D E R

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.11.2018 and take appropriate action against the 4th respondent.

2. The representation submitted by the writ petitioner would reveal that without any approval / license, few persons are selling fish, which is causing inconvenience to the people residing in that locality. The petitioner presumed that an approval was granted by the Tiruvallur Municipality for running Fish market in that locality. The Commissioner of Tiruvallur Municipality submitted a report stating that no such approval has been granted to run fish market in that locality. The residential buildings were constructed in that locality and so for the Municipality has not received any complaint from the public at large. However, the petitioner along with other resident has given a a complaint and therefore, the Commissioner, Tiruvallur Municipality is bound to look into the complaint and initiate actions, if any illegality or

irregularity is noticed in that locality. If at all any illegal fish market or trading is going on in that locality, it is to be regulated appropriately, so as to protect the interest of the resident of that locality.

3. In view of the facts and circumstances, the respondents are directed to conduct field inspections and initiate appropriate actions to protect the interest of the people of that locality for peaceful living.

4. With this direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. 04.01.2024 Jeni Index : Yes Speaking order / Non-speaking order
