Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent-the Commissioner, HR&CE Department, Chennai, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10.10.2018 and pass necessary directions for the benefit of the Temple and its idol for the completion of the Kumbabishekam or Consecration work without any sort of hindrance.

The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondent to consider his representation dated 10.10.2018, wherein and whereby, he sought for permission to construct temporary rooms and to provide sufficient infrastructures to the stapathis, who are staying in the Temple for the construction work of Rajagopuram.

2. It is seen that the petitioner is a Hereditary Trustee of "Arulmigu Sri Bathra Kaliamman Sri Veera Bathra Swami Thirukoil" situated at New No.5, Kumaraswamy Lane, Royapuram, Chenani-600 011. It is stated that the construction/renovation work of the Rajagopuram is being carrying out by the stapathis appointed by the Hereditary Trustees of the above said Temple. It is further stated that to provide effective accommodation to the stapathis, who are staying in the Temple for the renovation work, the petitioner made the representation to the respondent on 10.10.2018. As the said request has not been considered by the respondent so far, this writ petition filed with the relief as stated supra.

This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the respondent to consider and decide the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of, only by directing the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10.10.2018 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioner and the other interested parties, if any. Such exercise shall be done by the respondent within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
