The present Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to extend the time limit for registering the ladies hostel with respondent based on the petitioner's representation dated 14.12.2018.
2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is seeking for extension of time to submit the required certificates to be produced as per the guidelines and the terms and conditions set out in Tamil Nadu Hostels and Homes for Women and Children (Regulation) Act, 2014. The authorities have given time to the petitioner to furnish these certificates on or before 31.12.2018. For extension of time, the petitioner made a representation on 14.12.2018 before the respondent, but, the same is yet to be disposed of. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on both sides.
4. It is seen from the records that the petitioner has sent a representation on 14.12.2018 seeking extension of time for production of the above-said documents. It is for the authorities to extend the time or not, for production of the documents. The representation itself was given only on 14.12.2018 and the Writ Petition has been filed on 19.12.2018.
5. Be that as it may. Mr.A.Kumar, learned Additional Advocate General, for Mr.E.Balamurugan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent undertakes that the respondent will dispose of the representation at the earliest.
6. Accordingly, the respondent/District Collector, Chennai, is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, on merits after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner and the persons interested in this regard, within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
