Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent herein to consider the petitioner's representation dated 05.04.2016 and regularize the service as Archakar in Arulmighu Selva Vinayagar Sri Subramaniya Swamy Temple, Royapettah, Chennai with all service and monetary benefits.

The petitioner was appointed as Gurukkal in Arulmighu Selva Vinayagar Sri Subramaniya Swamy Temple, Royapettah, Chennai, popularly known as Chellapillaiyar Temple and he is still working on a consolidated pay of Rs.2,500/- per month. The Government of Tamil Nadu in G.O.Ms.No.62 dated 18.02.2015 have announced a scheme for regularization of the temple workers and accordingly recommendations were called for by the first respondent. The second respondent has not recommended the name of the petitioner and hence the petitioner made a representation dated 05.04.2016, which has not been considered till date. Hence, the above writ petition is filed seeking appropriate relief.

2. Mr.M.Maharaja, learned Special Government Pleader (HR & CE) takes notice on behalf of the respondents and submits that the representation of the petitioner would be considered in accordance with law.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances and the limited scope of the prayer, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.04.2016 in the light of G.O.Ms.No.62 dated 18.02.2015, and pass appropriate orders, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is ordered accordingly. No costs.
