PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus under Article 226 of the Constitution of India directing the respondent police to provide adequate protection to ensure smooth functioning of the Association and to initiate appropriate action in accordance

with Law against those miscreants who try to obstruct the smooth functioning of the Association.

ORDER

This petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to provide adequate protection to ensure smooth functioning of the Association and to initiate appropriate action in accordance with Law against those miscreants who try to obstruct the smooth functioning of the Association.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the prayer sought for by the petitioner has become infructuous.

3. In view of the above submission, this writ petition has to be dismissed as infructuous. However, it is seen while passing interim order in this writ petition, this Court directed the fourth respondent / Revenue Divisional Officer, Chennai to immediately remove the seal from the office premises of the Tamil Film Producers Council and keep the proceeding initiated under Section 145 of Cr.P.C pending. Hence, now the petitioner is at liberty to challenge the proceedings initiated under Section 145 Cr.P.C. by the fourth respondent by appropriate petition before the appropriate forum, if so advised within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order. Till then, the fourth respondent is directed to keep the proceedings initiated under Section 145 Cr.P.C. in abeyance.

4. With the above directions, this petition is disposed of. No costs.
