Respondents Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to produce the petitioner namely Arumugam, S/o Arunachalam, Life Convict, aged about 47 years, now confined in the Central Prison-1, Puzhal, Chennai-66 before this Court and direct the respondents to consider the petitioner immediately under G.O. Ms.No.1155 Home (Prison-IV) Department dt.11.09.2008, for premature release and set him at liberty.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.) It is the case of the petitioner that he is a life convict prisoner (C.T.No.3349) confined in Central Prison, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Puzhal-I, and that he is entitled to be released in terms of G.O. Ms.No.1155 Home (Prison-IV) Department dt.11.09.2008.

2. It is seen that the petitioner has not given any representation, but a representation appears to have been given on his behalf way back on 14.12.2013 by the Prisoners Rights Forum.

3. Under such circumstances, we direct the petitioner to submit a representation to the third respondent and on such representation being given, the third respondent shall collect the Probation Officer's report and other reports and forward the papers with his remarks through the second respondent to the first respondent within three months thereof. Thereafter, the first respondent shall pass orders in accordance with law. With the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
