ORDER

This petition has been filed for a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I (Fast Track Court at Magisterial Level), Madurai, Madurai District to expedite and complete the trial in S.T.C.No.537 of 2016 within a time limit.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and perused the materials placed on record.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the hearings of the case in S.T.C.No.537 of 2016, which was filed under Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act, on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I (Fast Track Court at Magisterial Level), Madurai, Madurai District is dragging on; in the meantime, the accused is trying to go to Singapore. He further submitted that the said case is pending from the year 2016. Hence, he prays to fix a time frame to complete the trial.

Considering the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, without going to the merits of the case, the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I (Fast Track Court at Magisterial Level), Madurai, Madurai District is directed to complete the trial in S.T.C.No.537 of 2016, within a period of six months from the date of receipt of the copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
