ORDER

This Writ Petition is filed, directing the respondents to release the deposit amounts lying with them in the name of petitioner's husband and disburse the same to the petitioner.

2.Heard the learned counsels on either side and carefully perused the entire materials available on record.

3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents Bank submitted that the Bank as per norms permits settlement of deposits and accruing interests, if any, in the name of T.Sankaragomathi, through the process of applying death claim. The legal heirs of T.Sankaragomathi can approach respective branches of our Bank, in which deposits are maintained and apply for death claim, with necessary supporting documents, as per Banking norms. 4.Recording the same, the petitioner is hereby directed to prefer a claim application for settlement of deposits with accruing interest, which is maintained in the name of deceased T.Sankaragomathi, with necessary documents within the period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the respondents Bank is directed to process the same and do the necessary in this regard in accordance with law within a period of three weeks thereafter. 2/4

5.With the above observation, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
