Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court S-12. To issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to settle the interest at the rate of 18 percentage p.a on the belated payment of Terminal benefits such as Provident Fund, Gratuity, Surrender Leave Salary and Commutation of Pension from the date of retirement on 29.2.2020 till the date of settlement on 02.06.2021.

O R D E R

This Court passed an order directing the respondents as follows:- "7. In the light of the above observations, there shall be a direction to the respondents to pay the penal interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the belated payment of the retirement benefits for the period from the date of the retirement till the date of actual disbursement, as expeditiously as possible and in any event, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order".

2.The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents made a submission that pursuant to the order of this Court, the eligible interest due to the petitioner has already been settled. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner made a submission that the eligible interest for commutation amount has not been paid. However, in respect of the commutation interest, the learned counsel for the petitioner states that the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation Employees Pension Fund Trust has to consider. 4.Thus, the Contempt Petition stands closed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to pursue the grievances if any with the Trust.
