Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate Writ or Orders or Directions in the nature of writ directing the respondents to settle the Interest at the rate of 18 percentage p.a on the belated payment Terminal benefits such as Gratuity, Surrender leave Salary, Commutation of pension and provident Fund from the date of retirement on 31/05/2019 till the date of settlement on 25/01/2021.

O R D E R

This Court passed an order directing the respondents as follows:- "7. In this background, there shall be a direction to the respondents to pay the interest to the petitioner at the rate of 6% per annum on the belated payment of the retirement benefits commencing from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursement within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order".

2. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents made a submission that pursuant to the order of this Court, the eligible interest due to the petitioner has already been settled.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner made a submission that the eligible interest for commutation amount has not been paid. However, in respect of the commutation interest, the learned counsel for the petitioner states that the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation Employees Pension Fund Trust has to consider.

4. Thus, the Contempt Petition stands closed. However, the petitioner is at liberty to pursue the grievances if any with the Trust.
