ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed, invoking Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeking direction to the learned Principal District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Thiruppathur to expedite the enquiry and dispose of the case in Cr.M.P.No.2983 of 2017 within a time stipulated by this Court.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has filed a private complaint under Section 200 Cr.P.C. against the police officials/respondents 1 to 11 and the 12th respondent/ daughter-in-law of the petitioner.

3. It is evident from the note papers that the complaint was filed on 01.09.2017, that subsequently, eight witnesses were examined on the side of the complainant, that the complainant's side evidence was closed on 06.07.2019 and that the case stands posted for orders on 19.07.2019, but subsequently, the Cr.M.P. was adjourned again and again for orders and for some clarification.

4. It is shocking to notice that the case is pending in Cr.M.P. stage for the past more than five years and for passing orders for the past three years.

5. Considering the above, the learned Principal District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate, Thiruppathur is directed to complete the enquiry and pass orders in Cr.M.P.No.2983 of 2017 within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
