ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner seeks issuance of passport. He had already submitted the petition mentioned application.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, it was submitted by the learned Central Government Standing Counsel for the first respondent that the petition mentioned application has already been closed. Therefore, the petitioner is permitted to submit a fresh application for issuance of passport. It is stated that the criminal case, in which, the petitioner is involved is still pending only at the FIR stage. No final report has been filed. Therefore, there is no impediment for considering the petitioner's request. If a fresh application is filed by the petitioner, the same will be processed favourably subject to fulfilment of the usual formalities. Since the police have already made their stand clear, there is no need to ask for fresh verification report also. The writ petition is allowed on these terms.
