Prayer: Writ Petition - filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the online application of the petitioner in application reference No. 200060541223619 dated 09.12.2023 and to give electricity connection to the residential house of the petitioner situated in Survey No. 945/12 in Kadavur panchayat union, Kadavur taluk, Thennilai village, Tharangambadi division, Karur district.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the online application of the petitioner in application reference No.200060541223619 dated 09.12.2023 and to give electricity connection to the residential house of the petitioner situated in Survey No.945/12 in Kadavur panchayat Union, Kadavur Taluk, Thennilai Village, Tharangambadi Division, Karur District.

2. According to the petitioner, she is the absolute owner of the subject property, which is an ancestral property having been devolved upon the petitioner's husband, who executed a gift deed in favour of the petitioner. The petitioner constructed a residential house in the subject property. The petitioner applied through online for getting new electricity service connection on 09.12.2023 and since it has not been processed by the respondents till date, this writ petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents submits that once if the petitioner produces all necessary documents, her application seeking for getting electricity service connection will be considered by the respondents.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondents.

Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the petitioner to produce all the necessary documents to prove her title and possession of the subject property and on receipt of the same, the respondents are directed to consider the online application of the petitioner in application reference No.200060541223619 dated 09.12.2023 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law for providing electricity service connection, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
