ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by M.DURAISWAMY,J.) The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition as a Public Interest Litigation to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to conduct the election to the Kanyakumari Town Panchayat as per 2011 Census by keeping the 10 fisherman wards Ward No.2- Chinnamuttom, Ward No.3-Lourdhu Madha Street, Ward No.4-Sahaya Madha Street, Ward No.5 Church Road, Rajasangeetha Street, Ward No.6- Anthoniyar Street, Ward No.7- Joseph Street, Ward No.8Alangaramatha Street, Ward No.9- Retchagar Street, Ward No.10Vavathurai and Ward No.12- Puthugramam as existed in 2011 Kanyakumari Town Panchayat elections.
2.When the Writ Petition is taken up for hearing, Ms.A.Rajini, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that since the respondents are taking into account the 2011 census for conducting the election as per the orders of the Honourable Apex Court, the Writ Petition may be closed.
3.The learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the first respondent submitted that the authorities are taking into account the 2011 census for conducting the election as per the orders of the Honourable Apex Court.
4.Recording the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on either side, since the respondents are taking into account the 2011 census for conducting the election as per the orders of the Honourable Apex Court, the Writ Petition is closed. No costs.
