PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of MANDAMUS directing the respondent to provide the Domestic Electricity Service Connection under Tariff-IA to the petitioner's residential premises in No.12, Kottai Street, Thirupparankundram, Madurai, Madurai District, in pursuant to the petitioner's Application Ref. No. 2000505312251420, dated 16.12.2025.

ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus as against the respondent to provide domestic electricity service connection to the writ petitioner.

2. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent submits that objection has been raised by the neighbour who is a relative of the petitioner to the effect that a smaller portion of the property has been constructed in encroaching upon the Government property.

3. Considering the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to provide electricity service connection after obtaining indemnity bond and undertaking letter from the writ petitioner. The said exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
