(R8 IS SUO MOTU IMPLEADED VIDE COURT ORDER DT.27/11/18 IN WP(MD)NO.21499/18) Prayer :- Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to renovate ancient Thirumalairayar Padithurai Maiyya Mandapam in the central part of Vaigai river nearby simmakkal,Madurai Dist. ORDER:- This Writ Petition is coming for hearing on this day under the Caption "For Reporting Compliance" and upon perusing the petition and the affidavit filed in support thereof and upon hearing the arguments of Mr.R.Alagumani, Advocate for the Petitioner and of Mr. M.Sarangan, Additional Government Pleader for Respondents No.1,4,5 and 7, Mr.P.Subbaraj, Spl.Govt.Pleader appearing For Respondents No. 2 and 3, Mr.VR.Shanmuganathan, Advocate for Respondent No.8, none appeared for Respondent No.6, this Court made the following order:
(Order of the Court was made by D.KRISHNAKUMAR, J.) The Joint Commissioner / Executive Officer of Arulmighu Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, has filed a status report, dated 12.01.2023, stating that that 100% construction of retaining wall of Maiyamandapam was completed. It is further stated that the said Maiyamandapam contains 36 pillars, out of which 22 pillars were retained as advised by the committee and 14 pillars, which were declared by the committee as unusable, were replaced with 14 new pillars. It is further stated that basic structure of the entire Maiyamandapam including erecting pillars were over and the balance finishing works were also completed.
2. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the aforesaid 14 pillars, which were removed will be kept in safe custody and completion certificate will be obtained from the concerned authority, regarding standard of work.
3. In view of the above, no further orders are necessary in this Writ Petition.
