ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent herein to grant Patta in the name of the petitioner in respect of the landed properties in Survey Nos.936/3 and 937/2C, situated at Kulathur Village, Vedasanthur Taluk, Dindigul District, by considering the petitioner's application dated 29.04.2025.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. According to the petitioner, he is the absolute owner and in lawful possession of the landed properties in Survey Nos.936/3 and 937/2C, situated at Kulathur Village, Vedasanthur Taluk, Dindigul District. He has submitted an application dated 29.04.2025 before the third respondent seeking grant of Patta in his name. The said application is pending consideration and no orders have been passed till date. The inaction on the part of the third respondent is arbitrary and violative of the principles of natural justice. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner's application will be considered on merits and in accordance with law.

Recording the above submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 29.04.2025, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders after providing reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and also to the other persons, who may be affected by such decision, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
