ORDER
The learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the above Writ Petition had been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd Respondent to grant permission and to provide adequate police protection for conducting the Maha Kumbabishegam of Arulmighu Santhana Mariyammam Temple situated at Mariyamman Kovil Street, Sayalgudi, Kadaladi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, by considering the Petitioner's representation dated 24.11.2023.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that there are two rival groups in the village to conduct the festival. Therefore, on the report of the Inspector of Police, Sayalgudi Police Station, the Tahsildhar, Kadaladi, had conducted Peace Committee Meeting. In the Peace Committee Meeting, they were advised to conduct the festival, consisting of one Kandhavel, Rasu, Boothaperumal, Velsamy, Mariappan 2/4
and Ramachandran. Also it was advised that regarding the property dispute, it can be resolved through the Civil Court and not before this Committee. In the meeting, it was also resolved that a fresh notice consisting of names of the members as stated and resolved before the Peace Committee Meeting before the Tahsildar, Kadaladi, shall be printed, in which, both parties had signed. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor had furnished the copy of the Peace Committee Meeting. In the same resolution, after the meeting, the Thasildhar, Kadaladi, had directed them not to print the name along with local honourary titles or designations which will rake up once again communal tensions.
3. In the light of the agreement reached by the parties, before the Thasildhar, Kadaladi, the festival of Arulmighu Santhana Mariyamman Temple shall be conducted. This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
