O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a retired Senior Trades Man Level - 5 of the respondent Transport Corporation, who had attained superannuation on 31.01.2023, seeking a Mandamus for payment of interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, though the petitioner had retired from service on 31.01.2023, the terminal benefits were released only on 30.10.2024. Hence, the petitioner has addressed a communication to the respondents on 04.11.2024, seeking payment of interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. 2/4

Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
