PRAYER :- For Bail in Crime No.12 of 2019 on the file of the Respondent Police ORDER : The Court made the following order :- Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate(Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent.

2. The petitioner is in custody since 11.11.2019, for the offences under Sections 376 and 506(i) of I.P.C., in Crime No.12 of 2019, on the file of the respondent police. Hence, he seeks bail.

3. The case of the prosecution is that the defacto complainant was having sexual intimacy with one Arumugaraj and that the petitioner herein who is a friend of Arumugaraj also blackmailed the victim and had sexual relationship with her. As a result, the victim became pregnant. That is how the matter came to be known and FIR came to be registered. The victim has since undergone abortion and the conception has been sent for forensic lab analysis and the results are still awaited. In any event as per the statement of the victim, the petitioner also had sexual relationship with her under https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

CRL OP(MD). No.306 of 2020 threat and coercion. Since the allegations made against the petitioner are serious and the issue concerns the safety of a woman, I am not inclined to grant bail and the criminal original petition stands dismissed.
