Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide uninterrupted Three-phase power supply for 18 hours to the petitioner's L.T.Service Connection No.5437-007-394 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The request of the petitioner is quite reasonable. But these are not matters in which Writ of Mandamus can be issued. It is well settled that if the Court cannot ensure enforcement of its order, the Court will refrain from issuing writs in such cases. I, therefore, stop with calling upon TANGEDCO to endeavour to provide uninterrupted three-phase power supply for 18 hours for the petition mentioned electricity connection. I make it clear that if there is any default in fulfilling this obligation, contempt proceedings cannot be initiated. 2/4
