ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition had been filed seeking a direction against the Respondents No.1 and 2 to provide adequate police protection.

2. The learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner submitted that the Petitioner is a practicing Advocate. He had been threatened by the Respondents No.3 to 9. The Petitioner had also filed the details of the cases pending against the Respondents No.3 to 9. Therefore, he seeks direction against the Respondents No.1 and 2 to provide police protection.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, from the second Respondent submitted that the enquiry is pending with the Assistant Superintendent of Police.

4. The Superintendent of Police is directed to hold enquiry regarding threat to the life of an Advocate, who is alleged to have married a woman 2/4

belonging to another caste. As per the submission of the learned Counsel for the Petitioner, the Superintendent of Police shall summon the Respondents 3 to 9 against whom various criminal cases are pending before various police stations in the District and get an undertaking regarding threat and for the safety of the practicing Lawyer.
