O R D E R

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the respondents 2 and 3 to consider his representation dated 20.11.2011 and receive land tax in respect of the property of the petitioner situate in Re.Sy.No.143/14A1A of Arudesam Village, Kanyakumari District.

2. Heard the arguments of Mr.K.P.Narayanakumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Baskaran, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents.

3. According to the petitioner, he has been enjoying the subject property for the past several years by putting up a house and residing thereon right from the days of his ancestors. The respondents received the land tax from the petitioner up to the year 2016. However, recently, when the petitioner tendered land tax, the respondents refused to receive the same. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation before the second respondent requesting him to receive the land tax tendered by the petitioner and issue necessary receipts for the same. The said representation has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has come 2/4

before this Court.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the representation would be dealt with in accordance with law, within the time stipulated by this Court.

5. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 20.11.2021 and pass final orders on its own merits, after affording reasonable opportunity to the petitioner,within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
