PRAYER:- Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to take appropriate action to remove the encroachment in S.No.1, Puthanendhal Kanmai, Ezhunootri Mangalam Group, Puthanendhal Village, Manamadurai Taluk, Sivagangai District. For Petitioner : Mr.R.Senthil Kumar For Respondents : Mr.S.R.A.Ramachandran Additional Government Pleader.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

2.Though the main prayer is for removing the encroachments in Puthanendhal Kanmai, Manamadurai Taluk, there are no materials to substantiate the same. The petitioner's counsel, however submits that the said Kanmai is being polluted by S.Karaikudi villagers.

3.We direct the Block Development officer (Village Panchayat/Special Officer), Manamadurai to take effective steps to ensure that the Puthanendhal Kanmai is not affected by any polluting actitivities of the villagers. This direction shall be strictly complied with. This writ petition is allowed on the above terms. No costs.
