PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd Respondent herein to take necessary steps to issue patta / assignment in Survey No.459 Anna Nagar, Sayalkudi Village, Kadaladi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, within the stipulated period that may be fixed by this Court. 1/4

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the third respondent to act upon the representation made by the petitioner and to grant patta to the petitioner with respect to the subject property.

2. The learned Additional Government Pleader on written instructions received from the official respondents submitted that the Revenue Divisional Officer had already cancelled the assignment patta that was granted earlier with respect to the subject property and presently, the request made by the petitioner is under consideration before the third respondent.

3. In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the third respondent to consider the request made by the petitioner seeking for issuance of patta with respect to the subject property and appropriate 2/4

orders shall be passed on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is directed to make a fresh representation to the third respondent along with all the relevant documents and also a copy of this order.

4. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
