The instant writ petition has been filed by a retired Deputy Agricultural Officer, challenging the order passed by the second respondent on 24.10.2024, wherein, the request of the petitioner for grant of promotion with retrospective effect has been rejected.
2. A perusal of the records reveal that the petitioner has retired from service as Deputy Agricultural Officer on 31.10.1997. Thereafter, the petitioner has sent a representation on 04.10.2024 seeking promotion as Assistant Director of Agriculture with effect from 02.05.1994. No acceptable reason has been stated for making such a claim after a period of 27 years. The second respondent has rightly rejected the request of the writ petitioner. 2/4
