ORDER

The present petition is filed by the petitioner under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, seeking for quashment of First Information Report in Crime No.41 of 2020 of Bhoodhalur Police Station, Thanjavur District, for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 307, 379, 21(4) of the Indian Penal Code r/w. Section 21(4) of Mines and Minerals (Developments and Regulations) Act, 1957.

2.Though several grounds were raised by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner seeking for quashment of the First Information Report, he restricted his argument to one aspect that the respondent may be directed to expedite the investigation and file a final report within the time stipulated by this Court. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.1115 of 2021 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that the investigation in Crime No.41 of 2020 is still pending.

4.Considering the submission by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the respondent police is directed to expedite the investigation in Crime No.41 of 2020 and file a final report within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above observation, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
