ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to provide necessary police protection during the festival of Sri Sengidai Karuppar Sri Thundhumi Aathal Temple to be held on 15.01.2025 based on the representation of the petitioner dated 02.01.2025.

2. The petitioner has sent a representation as President of festival committee of Sri Sengidai Karuppar Sri Thundhumi Aathal Temple and around 300persons are participating in the festival and the festival is being conducted by the year 1975 without any untoward incident. This year also on 15.01.2025 the function is to be conducted from 09.00 am., to 11.15 am., followed by feast till 05.00 pm., and the cultural program for the children to be conducted thereafter, hence sought for police protection.

3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on the representation given by the petitioner enquiry is pending in CSR No. 2 of 2025 and the respondent will conduct enquiry.

4. In view of the same, third respondent police is directed to conduct enquiry on the representation given by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders forthwith.

5. With the above direction the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
