petitioner's date of retirement (28.02.2023) to till the date of reimbursement (30.10.2024 and 01.11.2024) of amount paid towards the petitioner's terminal and pension benefits namely EPF Employee's Contribution, Gratuity, Encashment of Earned/Sick Leaves and other monetary benefits etc., within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court, without affecting the petitioner's right to claim balance amounts towards those benefits. O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a retired Special Grade Conductor of the respondent Transport Corporation, who had attained superannuation on 28.02.2023, seeking a Mandamus for payment of interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, though the petitioner had retired from service on 28.02.2023, the terminal benefits were released only on 30.10.2024. Hence, the petitioner has 2/5

addressed a communication to the respondents on 21.12.2024, seeking payment of interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits from the due date till the date of disbursement, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
