ORDER
The petitioner seeks for a direction to the respondent No.2 to withdraw and transfer the case in Cr.No.242 of 2024 dated 30.12.2024 pending before the Respondent No.4 and entrust the same to respondent No.3 for further investigation and to file the final report.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that on 25.12.2024, when the petitioner and his family had gone on a pilgrimage, the petitioner's house was broken open and 29 sovereigns of gold jewellery along with a cash amount of Rs.2,00,000/- were stolen. In this regard, a complaint came to be registered in Crime No.242 of 2024 on 30.12.2024. However, there has been no progress in the investigation so far, and hence, the petitioner has filed the present petition seeking appropriate relief.
3. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent police submitted that no material evidence has been found in the case so far and 2/5
that the investigation is still pending.
4. Considering the slow pace of the investigation and the nature of the cases involved, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Thirumangalam, Madurai District, is directed to take over the investigation and complete the same as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed. 09.01.2026 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Sm TO:-
