Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and appoint the petitioner for the post of Panchayat Secretary for Karuppur Village, Manapparai Taluk, Trichy District on the basis of the representation of the petitioner dated 27.10.2020. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 2.The petitioner is a physically challenged person, who is aspiring to be appointed to the post of Panchayat Secretary in the Karuppur Village, Manapparai Taluk, Trichy District. The selection in the post of Panchayat Secretary is under the regulations governing concerned Panchayat and this Court may not be justified in directing them to make a preferential consideration to the petitioner. W.P.(MD) No.2122 of 2021 being done on roster basis, the petitioner's candidature could be considered along with other candidates. The respondents are obligated to follow such regulations. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents also submitted that the appointment to the post of Village Assistant is being done on roster basis and the consideration for the present post is for MBC category.

3.In the light of the aforesaid observations, this Court is not inclined to consider the petitioner's representation seeking for preferential appointment. The respondents shall adhere to the selection regulations and conclude the selection process. 4.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
