ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to grant permission and provide police protection for conducting the Koongu Festival on Tuesday, 16.01.2026, between 9.30 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. at Arulmigu Koppudai Amman Thirukoil, situated at S.S. Kottai Village, Singampunari Taluk, Sivagangai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 29.12.2025.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), appearing for the respondents, submitted that the representation seeking police protection was followed by another letter stating that the petitioner would abide by any order passed by this Court. However, the respondents have not considered the petitioner's representation seeking police protection.

3. Therefore, this Court is of the considered opinion that such a reply cannot be accepted. Accordingly, the respondents are directed to provide police protection. Further, the petitioner submitted that there is no antecedent of any law and order problem. Hence, the respondents are positively directed to consider the petitioner's representation and provide police protection. 2/4

4. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No Costs. 07-01-2026 KSA To
