O R D E R

This writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 3 and 4 to grant police permission and protection towards conducting Kodai festival at Arulmighu Kilakathiyan Samy temple at Paramankurichi, Tiruchendur Taluk, Thoothukudi District on 10.01.2023 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 21.12.2022 within the time limit stipulated by this Court.

2. Mr.J.K.Jeyaseelan, learned Government Advocate (Civil Side) takes notice for the respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.E.Antony Sahaya Prabahar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents 3 and 4. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner submitted that Kodai festival for the temple, by name, "Arulmighu Kilakathiyan Samy temple" at Paramankurichi, Tiruchendur Taluk, Thoothukudi District, is going to be held on 10.01.2023 and they sought permission of the police to conduct the kodai festival by giving a representation dated 21.12.2022. But, the respondents 1 to 4 have not considered the said representation. Since no order was passed, the writ petitioner has come before this Court for the above said relief.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents 3 and 4 would submit that since there were rival claims, the fourth respondent has submitted a requisition on 02.01.2023 to the first respondent to conduct peace committee meeting. 3/6

5. Recording the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the first respondent is directed to conduct peace committee meeting within a period of three days from today and pass orders in accordance with law.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
