O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.12.2023 and to issue patta in his favour in respect of the property comprised in S.No.50/1 situated at Devipattinam Village, Ramanathapuram Taluk and District.

2. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. According to the petitioner, he has sent a representation to the respondents on 13.12,2023, seeking to issue patta in respect of the property comprised in S.No.50/1 situated at Devipattinam Village, Ramanathapuram Taluk and District. Since the said representation has not been considered, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation cannot be considered at this juncture as the land in S.No.50/1 has been classified as 2/5

Arasu Punja during UDR Scheme and the total extent is 2.01.0 ares and the petitioner has to prove that the classification has been changed by the revenue officials and the petitioner being there in that place for many decades, the same shall be considered by the authorities and appropriate orders can be passed based on his representation.

Considering the above said submissions, this Court directs the petitioner to produce all the relevant documents to the respondents to prove his possession and the respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 13.12.2023 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after holding an enquiry, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
