ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a direction directing the respondents 1 to 6 to conduct an enquiry in respect of the death of the 2/6

petitioner's husband during Jallikattu in the year 2024. Further seeking a direction to issue guidelines to the seventh respondent for the purpose of granting permission for conducting Jallikattu to be held in the month of January every year.

2. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

4. The petitioner's husband went to the Jallikattu conducted by the seventh respondent on 28.01.2024. During Jallikattu one of the bull came out of the track and gored her husband. Due to which, he sustained serious injuries and died. In pursuant to the demise of the petitioner's husband, FIR was registered in Cr.No.40 of 2024 under Section 174 Cr.P.C., on the file of the Inspector of Police, Vallam Police Station, Thanjavur District. After completion of investigation, investigation agency dropped the FIR as further action dropped and filed the further 3/6

report before the learned Judicial Magistrate No.II, Thanjavur District. Therefore, already enquiry conducted and dropped the further action since there is no suspicious in the death of the petitioner's husband. That apart, already the first respondent while granting permission imposed conditions by following guidelines.

5. Therefore, the direction sought for in this writ petition cannot be considered and it is liable to be dismissed.

6. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to seek compensation in the manner known to law. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 09.01.2025 Index : Yes / No NCC : Yes / No am 4/6
