O R D E R
This Writ Petition is filed for issuing a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to absorb and regularise the petitioner's service as Daily Contract Labourer or Mazdoor in the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, with all service benefits. 2.It is admitted by the petitioner that he was engaged as a Contract Labourer from December'1997 and thereafter. The Board has initiated action for absorbing more than twenty one thousand Contract Labourers in a faced manner.
However, further representations were made by several persons to claim the benefit of 1/3
a subsequent settlement, dated 10.08.2007 signed by the representatives of the Board and the Unions.
3.It is stated that a Committee was constituted consisting of five members to examine the cases of Contract Labourer, who are not covered by 12(3) settlement, dated 10.08.2007 for absorption. The said Committee was asked to consider the case of Contract Labourer, who are not covered by the settlement, dated 10.08.2007 for payment of excretia / absorption.
4.In view of the same, the learned Counsel for the respondent submitted that the petitioner may be permitted to approach the Committee constituted by the Board, specifically, for this purpose and to ventilate his grievance.
5.In view of the submission of the learned Counsel for the respondent, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the direction to the petitioner to approach the Committee constituted by the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board as per the Board proceedings, dated 09.01.2008 and that the said Committee shall consider the case of petitioner and pass appropriate orders within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of representation from the petitioner. No costs.
