Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to either issue Patta in respect of the petitioner's Punjai land in Survey No.51/3 total an extent of Hectare 0.36.0 (91 cents) in Echampottal Puthur Village, Sivagiri Taluk (now Kadayanallur Taluk), Tirunelveli District (Now Tenkasi District and pay the suitable compensation as per new Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act 2013 on the basis of considering the petitioner's representation dated 29.03.2022, within the time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The petitioner's request for issuance of patta on the strength of his long possession has already been negatived by this Court. Of course, the Hon'ble Division Bench vide order dated 21.08.2017 in W.A.(MD)No.1115 of 2017 has made it clear that as regards the question of payment of compensation, the petitioner can independently workout his remedy. The third respondent is 2/4

directed to pass order on the petition mentioned representations as regards payment of compensation. This shall be done within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
