This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent to settle interest at the rate of 18% per annum, for the belated payment of terminal benefits including gratuity, terminal leave salary and provident fund.
2. By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.
3. The case of the petitioner is that he served as a Senior Grade Conductor in the respondent Transport Corporation and retired from service on 30.04.2015. However, the petitioner's terminal benefits were settled only in the year 2019. Hence, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondent on 03.11.2020, for payment of interest. But the same was not considered so far. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing this writ petition.

4. When the matter is taken up for hearing today, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the representation made by the petitioner dated 03.11.2020, is directed to be considered by the respondent.
5. The learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondent has no serious objection for considering the petitioner's representation, dated 03.11.2020.
6. Taking note of the said submissions made, the respondent is directed to consider the representation made by the petitioner, dated 03.11.2020 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if not disposed of already.
7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
