ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by M.DURAISWAMY,J.) The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 5 to count the votes and declare the result in respect of the Ward No.15 in Nilaiyur Village Panchayat, Thirupparankudram Union, Madurai District.
2.It is the case of the petitioner that the counting for Ward No.15 was stopped by the authorities and therefore necessary direction should be issued to them.
3.Mr.K.Chellapandian, learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents 3 to 5 submitted that the third respondent / District Collector / District Election Officer had already passed an order directing the concerned officers to count the votes today ie., 08.01.2020 and also declare the results today itself. That apart, the successful candidates are also permitted to participate in the Election scheduled to be held on 11.01.2020. The learned Additional Advocate General also produced the letter of the third respondent to that effect before this Court. 4.In these circumstances, we do not find any reason to pass any further direction to the authorities. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
