ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner / 2nd Accused, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 22.11.2024 for the alleged offence under Sections 392, 397 and 506(ii) of IPC, in Crime No.1664 of 2019, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the material records of the case.

3. The petitioner was facing trial in S.C.No.398 of 2020 before the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate / Assistant Sessions Judge, Madurai. There are totally 2 accused persons in this case and the petitioner has been arrayed as A2. When the matter was posted for hearing on 21.06.2024, the petitioner was not present before the Court and hence, NBW was issued. The same was able to be executed and the petitioner was produced before the Court only on 22.11.2024 and he was remanded to judicial custody.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the case is now at the stage of examination of the investigation officer and the matter is posted for hearing tomorrow.

5. Taking into consideration the conduct of the petitioner and also taking note of the fact that the trial is at its fag end and also considering the fact that there are 19 previous cases against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the 2/4

petitioner and in the alternative, this Court is inclined to fix a time for the completion of the trial.

6. In the result, this criminal original petition is dismissed and there shall be a direction to the learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate / Assistant Sessions Judge, Madurai to dispose of S.C.No.398 of 2020 within a period of 2 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
