O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the third respondent to cancel the mutation of patta in the name of the sixth respondent dated 15.08.2014 with respect to the petitioners property in Sy.No.16/19C Inathukaanpatti Village, Thanjavur Taluk and Thanjavur District and further directing the third respondent to restore the patta in the petitioner's name by considering his representation dated 06.12.2025.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the parties. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3.When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 4 submitted that the third respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer will consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders within the 2/5

time frame stipulated by this Court.

4. In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of by directing the third respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 06.12.2025 on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. Such representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an inquiry, including issuing notice to the petitioner, respondents 5 and 6, owners of adjoining lands and considering any objections from them. The third respondent is also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity at such inquiry to the petitioner, respondents 5 and 6 and any others who would be affected by such decision. There shall be no order as to costs.
