O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed seeking the issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the second respondent to conduct the enquiry proceedings on the petitioner's application dated 21.12.2024 within a stipulated time and consequently, to issue patta in the petitioner's name in respect of Old Survey No. 28/1 and New Survey No. 28/43 to the extent of 5 cents, and Survey No. 28/46 to the extent of 1 cent, situated at Vinaideerthanadarpatti Village, Thippananmpatti Post, Tenkasi Taluk,

2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of respondents submitted that the matter is pending before the second respondent and that the inquiry would be conducted and concluded within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent/ District Revenue Officer to conduct and conclude the inquiry on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The first respondent is further directed to afford a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and to all other persons who may be affected by such decision during the course of the inquiry. In the event of any rival claims, the same can be agitated before the competent civil court. There shall be no order as to costs.
