ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by M.DURAISWAMY,J.) The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the fourth respondent to provide police protection and further direct the respondents 1 to 3 to video-graph the entire election to be held on 11.01.2020 for the post of Panchayat Union President for Thirupuvanam Panchayat Union to be conducted by the respondents 1 to 3.
2.Mr.K.Chellapandian, learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents 2 to 4 filed an affidavit of the third respondent / the Election Officer, Thiruppuvanam Panchayat Union, Sivagangai District stating that a communication has already been sent to the Inspector of Police, Thiruppuvanam Police Station to provide adequate police protection and the District Collector has also sent a communication to the Superintendent of Police, Sivagangai District to provide adequate police protection during the indirect election process to select Chairman / Vice Chairman, Panchayat Union Councils in the District of Sivagangai.
Further, the District Collector / District Election Officer, Sivagangai District has given instruction to ensure video-coverage of the process of indirect election to Tiruppuvanam Panchayat Union scheduled to be held on 11.01.2020. Further, the third respondent has stated that the arrangements will be made to video-graph the entire election process relating to the election of Chairman / Vice Chairman, Tiruppuvanam Panchayat Union Council scheduled to be held on 11.02.2020.
3.The affidavit dated 09.01.2020 of the third respondent is taken on record.
4.Recording the same, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
