This Contempt Petition has been filed to initiate contempt proceedings against the contemnor/respondent and punish him for the wilful disobedience of the order of this Court in Crl.O.P.(MD)No.5007 of 2022 dated 17.03.2022, thereby directing the Special Court (EC Court) Pudukottai to take cognizance on the final report filed by the respondent police in Crime No.564 of 2016 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of that order.

2.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that as directed by this Court, the investigation in Crime No.564 of 2016 has taken cognizance in C.C.No.123 of 2023 on the file of the Additional District Judge/Presiding Officer Special Court for E.C & NDPS Act Cases, Pudukkottai.
